Getting the presents ready

Walking inside Sylvia Park, I looked up and saw heaps of elves hanging down from the ceiling
as well as tinsels and mistletoes. Getting off the elevator, the shops was full of people
gathering around the counter trying to pay for their things.

My 3 cousins, my aunty and I went to a shop where heaps of dresses were. In my family
we done secret Santa, so we are all getting our presents ready. My big cousin and my aunty
went inside while me and my other 2 cousins were waiting outside.

"Go get some food it is going to be boring" my big cousin asked, her name was Neta. "We will stay with you" my cousin Hosannah answered. 3 minutes later my aunty and cousin were still inside.
We were so tired.

"Finally, they are out" I said happily. Inside their bag was dresses. We walked to another shop where heaps of jewellery were. The shop was called Michael Hill. That shop was right next to the food court.

My aunty bought a ring. "Let's go and eat" I asked Hosannah. "Yeah" he replied. We told
my aunty that we are going to the food court. My cousin and I had 10 dollars each.

"What can we get for 10 dollars" Hosannah asked. I never replied because I was looking at all the
yummy food. I went to Mc Donald. Hosannah went this shop where you have butter chicken
but he never baught that.

From Mc Donald I got a small Mc attack with a fanta drink. I went to Hosannah, he was still
deciding what to get. "Go look for a chair" he said to me. "Ok" I replied. I found a empty spot,
I sat down and waved my arm to my cousin. He waved back.

As he finished buying his food, he came and sat down.  We started to eat our food.
About 5 minutes later my cousins and my aunty came. They had heaps of things on their
hands from their shopping.

They came and sat down for a rest. "Did you guys already eat your food?" Neta asked.
"Yeah" we replied. My 2 cousins and my aunty went and brought some Mc Donalds.
We started to get really seeing them eat.

Finishing their food, they all came and sat down. My aunty Lana saw us looking at them,
so she gave us $1.20 each. Hosannah brought 2 ice cream for himself, just like me.
I started licking my ice cream.

"So beautiful" I said. When we all finished our food, we went to our car to get ready to go home.
We all hopped in the car and went home.  It was FUN!!!

Prize giving 2012

Finally the time has come for me to get another prize like last year. Last year I got effort, and I don’t know what I got now.
Anyway, this is about this years prize giving. The prize giving was about to start.

Everyone was all getting ready for their time, to dance or get an award and their dance.
All the kids looked so pretty and handsome. Heaps and heaps of families were waiting for their cousins/siblings/nieces or nephews to dance.

Mr Burt walked in and started the prayer. Finishing off his prayer, he told us a really short korero. He said that once we had $100. That $100 was for our Netbooks. But guess what, 1 Netbook cost $500. So we couldn’t get the Netbooks. Suddenly our parents wanted to help us. The parents paid $1.5 million and the $3 million is from the other people who wanted to help us. So altogether we had $4.5 million.

So Mr Burt brought more than 700 Netbooks form that big money. Next he talked about our sports. We have won so many things. 10 minutes later, he finally finished. The first performance was the Kapa Haka group. Toko came up and spoke Maori.

When they finished their lovely performance, Mr Burt came up and said “Now it’s the yr 5 awards”. He said for best effort Sela Mapapalangi. Citizenship and 100% for coming everyday Jordan Alofi andIron 100% coming to school too!. When Mr Burt finished all those awards I said to myself “Where is my award??”.

Mr Burt was up to the Academic awards. “Drum roll please” Mr Burt shouted. “In 3rd place Iron Talia. In 2nd place Jordenne Eteuati” I was so frightened when Mr Burt my name and that I came 2nd. “In 1st place Iisa Salie”.

Iron, Iisa and I walked up the stage to get our award. I was really proud of myself.
“Wait there people want to take pictures” Mr Burt said. I smiled because people were some pictures because I came 2nd in Academic.

We went down and gave our awards to Miss King. “It is time for the yr 5 item”.
As everyone was cheering team 4 which was us went up silently and got into our positions.
“Lets Rock” I said. The song started and we jumped up. It was the best prize giving ever!!!

Why I want to be an Ambassador

Learn, Create and Share is the way we teach and learn at Pt England. Because when we learn something we start creating it, then we share it to the world on our own blogs.

This year for the Manaiakalani Film Festival, the kids in room 13, which was us, made a movie without any help from our teacher. We learned heaps and heaps of things. We learned all about self management - to get the job done. We learned how to work as a team to make a storyboard so we know what to film and to edit and make decisions about our final product.

When we went to the Manaiakalani Film Festival Iron and I went to present. No one had to tell us how to stand on the stage, no one had to tell us what to wear and especially,no one told us what to say. We both knew what we needed to say and to learn our lines.

We learned so many things that we were lucky to show it to the world on our blogs and on the X-treme screen.
So there, we learned self management, working as a team, storyboarding, editing and checking. We knew that we wanted our movie to look great before we shared it with the world.

My favourite thing is that my mum, dad, my 3 brothers and 2 sisters get to look at my blog in Samoa and comment on my learning and creating. I think that is great because I learn so many things from them and they don’t even live in NZ .

Here is a link to my movie More

I want to be ambassador because I want to speak in front of important people and tell them what I learn, create and share. Why, because I think I would a great and I am really proud of what I do.

I will make a great ambassador because I will speak loud and I will be confident, and I will represent Pt England and tell all about us.

My cousins 5th Birthday

On 10th of the December, we went to my cousins birthday at this restaurant called Genghis Khan. I have been their lots of time for some celebrations and Birthdays. Anyway, it was just
her family and us.

My aunty and I were getting ready for the dinner. It started at 7:00 and it finished around 9:00.
When we finished having a shower and getting dressed, my aunty called out to" Jordenne, come
and I will do your hair". I ran to her room and sat down on the chair.

First she was doing her hair as a bun. I was waiting for her to finish doing her hair. 2 minutes
later she finished doing the last touch of her hair. "How should I do your hair??" my aunty asked.
" I don't know" I replied.

My aunty Lana asked me again"Do you want a plat??". I answered "Yep". So she started platting my
hair. Finishing doing my hair, we went to pick up my cousin, then went to K-mart in Botany.
That is where the Genghis Khan is and that is where we are going to buy my cousin a present.

I felt so excited to go to my cousins Birthday. Her name was Eden-Rose.
When we got to K-mart, we all hopped out of the car and walked inside. We were looking around
for some toys for my cousin Eden.

"Should we get this??" Lana asked. "Yeah" Hosannah and I answered. It was a Ballerina
toy. When we put got it and put it in the trolley we went and got some shoes. Finishing getting some
shoes. We went and paid for the present.

"Lets go now" Lana said. We hopped inside the car and drove to Genghis Khan. "We are hear" I shouted excitedly. We walked inside and saw the Birthday girl. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" I said.
We all got together and done the prayer.

Finishing the prayer, we all went to eat, and started the birthday. It was awesome!!!

Rotational Symmetry

This is called a Rotational Symmetry. It is where you
draw something and then it appears, it is like your all four sides at the same time.
Here is a link for you to try. Rotational.

Reflective Symmetry

In our class Miss King has showed us another site for maths.
It is called a Reflective Symmetry. It is where you draw something, and then you try
to reflect it by drawing it again.
It is just like a mirror.
You should try it! Reflective

Tangram

This is a rabbit made out of different shapes. Miss King has showed us a site called
Tangram. It is where you make somethings out of 7 shapes all of them.
So here is a link for you to go and have a try at making it. http://www.crickweb.co.uk/ks1numeracy.html#tangram

Manaikalani

What do you do differently now?
What I do differently now is learning more things on my Netbook. Like learning how to make a movie on this site called wevideo, and sometimes I don’t use spell checker on my Google Docs. But sometimes I do because the first reason why I use spell checker is that I don’t know how to spell the word that I’m trying to look for, and sometimes I am too lazy to type the word. But last year was worst, I had to check my spelling every single time.

What do you think about your learning?
I think my learning has gone a little bit higher because I have learned so many things that helps my brain learn more things.

What would you have enjoyed doing more of this year?
What I would've done more this year was to make more movies, because I love sharing a really cool movie that I want everyone to watch and see.

What are your goals for 2013?
My goal for 2013 surprise everyone with a really interesting movie better than this year.

What has been the best thing about in Yr 5?
The best thing in Yr 5 was having Netbooks. Well not just Netbooks, learning more things
and staying in the same class as last year. But with different people. Yr 5 has been so fun, the best thing I’ve been learning year was inventing a toy that no one has ever invented.
We didn’t invent it we just made a movie of it and drew what it looks like. Here is a link for you to watch my favourite thing that I have done this year.http://pesjordennee.blogspot.co.nz/2012/11/my-made-up-toy-amazing-backstroke-flyer.html#comment-form

Swimming

Thank you Chris and the Watersafe Auckland for giving us a chance to swim in your pool once a week.It has been fun swimming and learning how to be safe in the water, and it has been a great experience having it. One of our teachers has looked after your pool, and that is Mr Garth Jacobsen and Mr Malloy.

We have been learning so much that I think everyone is going to be safe in the water. Our class has been learning how to float in the water, treading water, has been learning about the life jacket and especially keeping yourself safe.So thank you for your lovely fun pool that you have given us to learn water safety. I enjoyed it!!!

Goldilocks

Narrative is a general term of a story.

Script:

Goldilocks: doesn’t have a home, even though she didn’t have a home you can’t just barge inside a house. Well anyway when she walked in she went to the kitchen and ate porridge.

Mama Bear: is a mom of 1 child. She has worn that panda since her mum was alive.

Papa Bear: is a dad the husband of mama bear the dad of baby bear.
Baby Bear: is a the only child in his house. No brothers and sisters.

The three bears went out of their house to go for a walk when suddenly a little girl named goldilocks walked inside their house. She was looking for a home. “This is perfect” she said. Goldilocks went to the kitchen to find some food. “Porridge!” she shouted ,licking her lips. “Mmmm, very yummy porridge I had. It made me so full, I’m going to sleep”

Goldilocks went upstairs and saw a bed. She lay down on the bed and went straight to sleep.
About 10 minutes later the little girl heard noises from downstairs. “That was a nice walk wasn’t it” said the little bear to his papa and mama. “Yes,Yes it was” replied papa. The little bear went upstairs to go for a sleep.

“Aaaaaaaah” cried little bear. “Mama, Papa come here” As soon as mama bear and papa bear came upstairs, they looked at Goldilocks. And things started to get really bad.

The scary ugly looking monster.

In the dark forest with the moonlight shining from above, a little boy sat across the lake holding a stick and on the stick was a marshmallow. The little boy sat by the fire for warmth.

A scary creature crawled out of the lake, hunting for food. With his yellow eyes he saw a bright light and a little boy. The creature crept behind the trees, licking his lips for food. Its green tail slapped against the trees.

The scary creature walked behind the boy. As the little boy heard the tree move he turned around and saw the big, ugly creature. The little boy pointed his stick at the creature incase danger happens....

Our parents paying for our Netbooks

Having our parents paying for our Netbooks is really cool. The reason why they pay for our netbooks is because they love us. Our parents pay 15 dollars a month, and I think that is really good.

Netbooks are not for playing games and listening to songs. We use our Netbooks to work on
and to share what have we learnt and created to the world.

This man called Pat Snedden, who is the chairman of Manaiakalani came to our school and talked about our lovely parents paying for our Netbooks. The results were that, together our parents are 1 and ½ million dollars. Our parents love us so much! So I would love to say a big THANK YOU to my parents.

Film Festival Review

This movie "The Test"
is really interesting and funny. It is about these boys saying hi or sup to each other during the final Math test.

This class had made an amazing movie that you should watch. They a really lucky to show it to everyone.

I love this movie because it is funny and hilarious! You should watch it because you might laugh and you might think it is interesting, because they are really good actors, especially this boy called Reyhan.

Since they done a really really good job on this movie, I am giving them a 10/10.
They are really talented kids. This is me merging into Raihan’s face.

50 Word Story about the Film Festival

This movie was made by the Tlented Room 18. Here is a link to
 their blog http://vimeo.com/53381100.

Watching The Test by Room 18 was so hilarious! They were told to sit quietly when you're finished, but then they made some really weird facials during the test. I think they were saying “sup” to each other. They were great actors, especially Reyhan. He was a really funny boy.

More

My friends and I made this movie for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Our whole class had the chance to make a movie. We had to plan, prepare, film and edit all by ourselves. Our class had our own film festival to select the best two, to be shown at the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Here is my group's entry!

High Jump-Athletics

“Wooh” I breathed slowly while trying to focus on the High Jump. Porscha and I were the last 2. I had first every year, so I had to come first again. I have to try hard!

The ten year old age group is really hard. Harder than the ones I had done when I was 8 and 9. The bar started really high.
Porscha had already made it over. She looked relaxed, and it looked like it  was too easy for her.

It was my turn to jump. Seeing Miss King videoing me, I felt like I was going to get distracted.
But no, it was alright. “Ready if you are Jordenne” Miss King called out.

Heaps of people were cheering for me. I took one step back and looked up. “Go” I whispered to myself. I ran as fast as I could and jumped over. I closed my eyes.

“Did I make it? I asked myself. “Try again” said Miss King. Quickly I walked back to the spot where I was. “Come on Jordenne I can do this” I said.

Running really fast, I jumped and I....Failed! Porscha was the winner and I was the second place. “You did good Jordenne” Asena said while putting her hands over me for a hug. “Thanks” I replied.

Porscha and I walked over to Miss Ouano. “Porscha made it over  1 metre 13 and Jordenne made it over 1 metre 10” Miss King said to Miss Ouano. “You guys did great” Miss Ouano said happily.

Scary Story

On a really snowy day, snowflakes fell peacefully from the sky. I was skipping along the narrow alleyway towards the village blackboard to write my name because today was my fifth birthday. Slowly I bent down and picked up the chalk, to write my name. A....L......M.....A.

I heard something really strange behind me, I turned around and saw a doll inside a shop.
That shop looked really creepy and old, I hadn’t ever seen anyone inside there before. I walked towards the window and saw the doll. It was really dark inside.

Rubbing my hands against the window, I wiped the frost away to get a closer look at the doll. To my surprise it looked just like me. Quickly I rubbed my eyes and looked back at the doll. It was gone! I saw a door to the shop, I ran towards it and tried to open it. But it was locked.

Angrily, I stepped back and folded my arms. I saw snow piles in front of the door, so I picked some up, made a snowball and chucked it at the door.  Stomping away, I suddenly heard something. I turned around and saw the door opened.

I ran towards the door and slowly I peeked inside, there were heaps of dolls. But I just cared about the one that looked like me. There I saw the doll. Stumbling my way towards it, I suddenly kicked a toy.

It was a boy riding on a bike. I picked it up and let it go, it started moving fast towards the door. That doll was trying to escape. As soon as he got to the door, it suddenly slammed in his face.
I stood back up and looked back to the doll. But it was gone again!

I looked around. The shelf, table and everywhere, but there was nothing. Slowly I looked back towards a high shelf and there it was. I jumped on a chair where I could climb up to reach the doll. Trying really hard to reach it, I didn’t notice that heaps of other dolls were looking at me, trying to warn me.

Slowly, inch by inch I tried to grab the doll. I touched the nose and suddenly. “SNAP”. I was inside the doll, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t talk. I was breathing heavily. The only thing I could do was look around that shop!

I saw another doll popping up from the basement. It was the next girl....

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

As Charlie was walking home, he looked down and found a coin. Charlie bent down and grabbed it. He held it into his hands and walked to the shops and bought a Wonka bar.

“May I help you” the shop owner said. “Can I please have a chocolate bar, a big one please” Charlie answered. The shop owner went to grab the chocolate and gave it to Charlie. “Here have this, the scrumdiddlyumptious”. Charlie snatched it off the shop owners hands, and ripped the cover off. He shoveled it into his mouth without even chewing.

“Excuse me” the shop owner said while he was putting his hand out for the coin. “Excuse me”.
“Oh sorry, here” Charlie answered. Charlie walked towards the door but then he stopped and went back and asked for another chocolate bar for.

The shop owner saw Charlie coming to him again. “May I have another Wonka bar for my grandpa Joe please” said Charlie. “Here why don’t you try an original one. I don’t need to hide anymore because all the Golden tickets have been found” replied the shop owner. Charlie gave him the change that he had and walked outside.

He saw heaps of people jostling around the news paper. “Hey, the fifth ticket is a fake” the man in the crowd shouted. Charlie realised he still have a chance to win the fifth Golden ticket, so he went behind the shop and slowly started to rip the cover off the chocolate.

As Charlie was ripping the cover off, he saw a GOLDEN TICKET. He quickly closed it and ripped it again really fast, and held the ticket in front of him. Suddenly a woman came and grabbed Charlie’s hand and shouted”He’s got the fifth Golden ticket”.

People were pushing through each other and trying to get the Golden ticket. He held it up so no one would get it. Charlie heard someone calling him”Charlie, Charlie” it was a man from the crowd.

The man held Charlie’s hand and pushed everyone so Charlie could go home. “Run home Charlie, don’t stop running” The man shouted. Charlie ran all the way home and showed his family the Golden Ticket.

Decimals from biggest to smallest

Here is a movie, that Jordan, Bishop, Mary and I made about Decimals from biggest to smallest.

Made up story: Fighting over the swing

Seeing my little cousin Xavier swinging on the swing he shouted “I feel so alive!”
He swung for such a long time, that I wanted to have a turn. “Come on! You’ve been on since we came. Let me have a turn now.” I shouted angrily while my red face popped out. “Can you be patient?” he replied.

“I’ve been waiting for hours and you're telling me to be patient!” I screamed. “Just, hurry up and let me have a turn”. “No” Xavier answered. So he swung and didn’t even care about giving me a turn.

I was so angry that I couldn’t take it anymore. I sat on the grass watching him feeling happy while I was feeling so jealous. The next minute, he was swinging so hard that he jumped off and flew into the air.

“NEK MINIT!” He landed on mud. My little cousin was covered with mud, he popped out and screamed”Aaaaaah, there is mud on me!!”. I felt so happy that he had come off the swing. Now it was my turn.

Swinging on the swing I shouted “I feel so alive”. But I stayed on just for like 10 minutes, and walked to Xavier and helped him up. “Lets take you home for a shower” I said.

Made up story-The annoying wave

While building an amazing sandcastle at the beach, an annoying wave came and ruined it.
So I moved away, and built another one. “Much better no more waves in my way” I said happily.

As I finished building my amazing sandcastle, I walked to my mum and said ”Hey mum, look at my castle. Isn’t it amazing?” My mum turned around and saw nothing. “I can’t see anything” she laughed. “What! It was right there” I screamed. “Wait, it was the wave again”.

Angrily, I walked to the wave and started to kick it. “STOP RUINING MY CASTLE!!!! I HAVE BUILT LIKE MORE THAN 10 CASTLES AND YOU HAVE RUINED ALL OF THEM!!!”. Jumping on the wave, it pulled me under and I began to drown. “Help! Help!”.

I was having a fight with the wave, and it was winning. It was so deep that I kept on shouting ”Help! Help! Help me!”. My mum heard me and saw me drowning. So she ran towards me and grabbed my hand. Trying to breathe, I popped up and landed on the sand.

“Thanks mum” I said. “Don’t go too deep, ok” my mum replied. So I built another sandcastle.
I looked away quickly and looked back to my castle and it was all gone. I kept my anger inside me and breathed slowly. “Wooh”.

Made up story: Halloween

Walking around the neighbour hood with my little brother, we went trick or treating. I was a clown, my little brother was a ninja. He looked inside the bucket and seeing all the lollies, quickly snatched it off me. "Hey give that back!" I yelled as I tried to grab it off him. "I asked for it" he shouted angrily.
"Give it back, otherwise I'll punch you" I commanded."BOOM" Suddenly that came true.
My ninja brother ran crying to my mum. So I started eating  all the lollies before mum got to me.

Made up story: The flood in G.I

Covering G.I was an enormous flood, everyone ran outside of their houses!
There is a boy called Johnny, he lives with his nanny. Her name was nanny Agather. Nanny Agather was inside putting all the furniture, the t.v and everything they had on a higher ground.

Nanny couldn’t do it by herself. So she ran outside calling out “Johnny, Johnny come and help me!! He heard, but then he was stopped by a bully saying “You have to stay here and do a belly flop. If you do it, you can go and help your nanny. But if you don’t, I’ll take all your money”. Johnny was scared.

Nanny Agather was getting a little cranky so she tried again.“Johnny, Johnny come and help me now!!” She went up stairs and looked out the window searching for Johnny. “There he is” she had spotted him. Nanny Agather went back downstairs to go and drag him home.

Walking outside Nanny saw Johnny, he was about to jump. “3, 2, 1!!! GO!” the bully yelled. Johnny jumped from the window towards the flood, putting his hands behind his head. He knew that his stomach would be the first thing to touch the water.

“SPLASH” Johnny was under there for like 5 seconds. Nanny Agather was worried. “Wooh” Johnny puffed. He came up thankful that he hadn’t been hurt. He said to his nanny “I’m sorry for not listening, I’ll come and help”.

Johnnys Nanny turned to the bully and said”DO NOT BULLY MY GRANDSON AGAIN!!!”.
They both went inside the house and carried all the things up stairs.

White Sunday

Celebrating White Sunday, heaps and heaps of families enjoyed watching
the children. White Sunday is when the kids celebrates!

On Sunday, we all got ready for the children's special day! "It is happening" I said
to myself. "It is happening". It was White Sunday!!

I ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth really fast and clean. We were in a
big rush. We're suppose to be there at 9.00. Finishing brushing my teeth,
I went to the kitchen and ate breakfast. "Hmm, that was nice".

"Your clothes are here" my Nana shouted. As I walked to her, I saw my dress and it
looked beautiful. I slid inside and I said "Wow I look pretty, I'm going church now".

Walking towards the door I touched my hair and "Aaaaaaaahhhhhh" my hair was messy!
I quickly ran to my aunty and said "Can you do my hair please". She replied "Yes".

My aunty Rivalana, done my hair as a bun. Last year she platted it on the side.
She is really good at doing my hair.

As she finished doing my hair she gave me my earrings. I poked it through my ears and I looked even more
prettier! I put on my bracelet , my shoes, my necklace and my wreath. "I'm done, I can go church now".

It was time for me to go . Walking inside the hall I saw heaps of kids. They all looked pretty and hansom. I saw my cousins, I said to them " I'm so nervous and excited, there is going to be more
than 100 people.

We all got into our classes. My grandpa came, he is the minister. He told us to be loud,
be confident and especially smile. "Let us pray" my grandpa said.

When he finished, we all sang a Samoan song while we go inside the church.
We do that every year. When we finished we all sat down.

My grandpa went to the pulpit and told the parents
not to come to the front of the stage to video or take pictures. He said you can sit at the front seat and do it.

First it was the little kids. They were sooo cute! When they all finished their part, they sang "Soon and very soon". That is the time that our class have to go and get ready.

Crawling outside of the church, we all had to get dressed. It wasn't our turn next. It was the other class. We are after them. Our teacher just told us to come.

It was the other classes turn. About 5 or 10 minutes later, I saw the class coming down off the stage. It's our turn.

The narrator went on. Our story was about Jobe, the servant of God.
I was in scene 3. So the first two characters went on. When they finished their part,It was the other peoples turn.

We were on after them. Seeing them coming off the stage I felt
sooo excited. Walking up and looking at the people I said my part.

It was the other persons turn. After her part I had another one.
"Loud and clear, Jordenne" I said to myself. When I finished we both walked off the stage.

The only ones left was our summary and our song.
Finishing those two part, everyone clapped while we were walking off the stage.

Auckland Champs for Rugby at Eden Park.

Winning the Final for rugby. The 2012 Auckland Champs ran happily out New Zealand's biggest
stadium Eden park, finishing playing Viscount. We got a prize from a lady and a man who works there.

As they gave it to us, I just felt so proud of us winning the final against a really hard team.
Lucky me I got a try!! I was the winger, so I was fast. Getting a try just felt like freedom.

We went back to school, and told everyone and Mr Burt. He was very proud of the true champions.
So we got change and we all went to our coach Miss V and shouted "THANK YOU MISS V
FOR BEING OUR COACH!!!!!

She felt very happy. Miss V said in an exciting voice"Group hug". So we hugged Miss V
and went back to class. I might play for next year!!!!

Using speech

Miss Kings:
“Why are you going?” My friend asked me. “I have to travel the world, I want to see everything.” I replied. “Will you ever come back? I might miss you.” he said. “Probably. Maybe in a few years. I’ll email.” I said to him.

Jordenne using speech and adding more detail:
Sitting on the sand looking at the wave going back and forward. Sammy, my best friend asked me in a sad voice, “Jason, why are you going”. I stared at his brown eyes, and said “I want to travel the world, and see everything”. He looked down and felt sad, and asked again, “Will you come back? I just feel so sad letting go my best friend”he said. His eyes was watery, and I was too nervous to say no. So I said”Probably”. I hugged Sammy and said”Maybe in a few years. I’ll email you ok”. I said to him.

My 10th Birthday

On the 23rd of September was my birthday. Do you know why I'm excited, well I'm excited in all of my birthdays. But today I have double DIGITS!!!!, "YAY!!!".
But especially, my mum is here for work and my birthday.

Lucky me, my birthday was on a Sunday. Because that's when all of my family comes here for church.

There is like 3 or 4 people in my church who has the same birthday as me, like my friends Sias mum. Alofia, and Jordan Mamoe. Raeleens and Cyrus brother.

Usally some of us has our birthday on a school day, and we don't have time to celebrate. So we just all come together as a family on a Sunday and celebrate their birthdays. My uncle asked me, "So Jo, when was your real birthday". I replied, "Today is my real birthday".

Walking to the kitchen I saw heaps of balloons of food!! They looked delicious! I sat down and the cake was in front of me. "Woah" I said. Singing Happy Birthday to me I felt happy. My aunty
took a photo of me and my mum.

Basketball

"Noo"! This was the last day of basketball and I was sad. Every Thursday mornings we always go there. When we get to the courts, we always see two coaches. Their names are Tai and Brook.
Tai and Brook were very good at coaching us. Because they taught us some really cool and really interesting skills.

I am going to miss basketball because it was fun and exciting to play. My favourite part of playing this amazing sport is bouncing the ball, defending and shooting it in the hoop. Since they taught us heaps of cool skills, I'm sort of pretty good at playing basketball.

THANK YOU TAI AND BROOKLYN FOR TEACHING US HOW TO PLAY BASKETBALL!!!!!!!

Farewell Mrs Verry

In our school their is a queen. She is the queen of bling! Her name is Mrs Verry.
Our teacher, neighbor especially our kind loving friend. She was retiring!!!
We felt really sad.

On Friday was the day for her to leave. She retired because of her knee was broken. She had an operation. It was a very special day for her because we did a dance for her retirement.
There was a Samoan dance and the Junior Pounamu did a haka. I was in the Samoan dance.

First Mr Burt came up, and told us about our friend Mrs Verry. He said that she was a SUPER GRAN!!!

As Mr Burt ended his story, Mr Jacobsen came and we sang a song that says "I love you". We sang it and when it was time to say I love you we all pointed to Mrs Verry.
She was really HAPPY!!!

"Iiiiii Loooove Youuuuuuuuu!" That was the end of the song. It was a very good song for her. It was time for the Junior Pounamu to perform.

All the Samoan girls were excited because we were next. We were all ready with our clothes. This Samoan dance represents all the Samoans and saying goodbye to Mrs Verry.

Our performance started with a speech. Toreka was the last one, as she ended her speech they all went to give the necklaces to Mrs Verry. I was in the middle of the first line. This is a video of the Samoan girls.

WE WILL MISS YOU MRS VERRY!!!!

Richard Whitehead

A champion athlete called Richard Whitehead is representing his country Great Britain. Richard Whitehead is an amputee, so he is running with the prosthetics legs. Successfully, he won the 100m sprint in the paralympics. Jumping up and down waving his flag to the crowd, he made his country very happy!!!
